What do you do when the decision is yours, and nobody tells you whether you’re heading the right way?
That’s roughly where business coaching starts.
Most leaders don’t get stuck because they’re bad at their job. They got the job because they’re good at it. Then comes a role where the expertise runs out, and nobody prepared them for that part.
The snail moves slowly. That’s good news only if it’s headed the right way.
Who business coaching in Budapest is for
Leaders, team leads, professionals. In a new role you haven’t settled into. Facing a decision you’ve been putting off for months. Holding a team you inherited and can’t quite reach.
Or just working hard and sensing it isn’t going where you want.
How we work
We start with a free 30-minute conversation. It shows whether coaching is what you need, and whether the two of us can work together. If we can’t, I’ll say so and help you find someone who can.
After that, usually 6 or 10 sessions, every other week, 60 or 90 minutes each. In the first one we set out what you want to reach, and how you’ll know you got there.
I won’t tell you what to do. We look at where you are, where you’re going, and what’s in the way.
Most of the work doesn’t happen in the room. We look at something, you try it, and two weeks later you bring back what came of it. That’s why the rhythm is fortnightly. A week is too short to test anything. A month and the thread goes slack.
I’m reachable by email between sessions if something urgent comes up. No extra charge, it’s part of the work.
What business coaching won’t do
If you’re in crisis, or carrying something heavy from a long way back, this isn’t the right thing. That’s psychological consultation or therapy, and we’ll talk about it honestly in the first conversation.
It also won’t change someone else for you. If the problem sits in the organisation, coaching can help you see clearly what you’re dealing with. That’s less than the training catalogues promise, and more than most people get.
What I bring
I’m a psychologist, trained in work and organisational psychology. As a doctoral researcher I work at the edge of organisations and social psychology.
In practice: I can see the part that isn’t yours. A lot of what leaders carry as personal failure is the system doing what systems do. We can take that apart together.
I trained in an ICF-accredited coaching programme and work to the ICF Code of Ethics. I’m currently accumulating the hours toward PCC credentialing.
Confidentiality
What you say here stays here.
If your employer funds the work, I discuss goals and progress with them. Never content. We put that in writing before we start.
Practical details
In person in Budapest or online. In English or Hungarian. Individual and corporate work.
If you want to see the rest of what I do, it’s here.
If something here sounds familiar, write to me. The 30 minutes exist to find out whether there’s work for us to do.
If you feel like talking about it, this is where you can start.
